Ever wondered what to expect on a speedboat tour in Hurghada? From hotel pickup and safety briefing to dolphin spotting, snorkeling at coral reefs, and relaxing on sandy beaches – this guide walks you through a full day at sea, including what’s included in the price and tips on what to bring.

Hotel Pickup and Transfer to the Marina

Depending on which trip you choose – early morning at 6:00 AM, the most popular option at 9:00 AM, or an afternoon departure at 1:00 PM – we will schedule your hotel pickup accordingly. Departures are from Hurghada city center, from the New Marina. The transfer from hotels in Hurghada usually takes no longer than 30 minutes.

Welcome and Safety Briefing

After arriving at the marina, you will be guided to the boat, where we will explain the safety rules, show you the available facilities, and finalize the plan for your trip.

Route and Program of the Trip

Most trips begin with a cruise north to search for dolphins. On the way back, we usually stop for snorkeling at a coral reef and later enjoy a picnic on a white sandy beach. If you wish to visit one of the private beaches on Giftun or Magawish Islands, this is also possible – an additional entrance fee applies.

Food, Drinks, and Equipment on Board

Onboard you will find chilled soft drinks (water, cola, sprite), a freshly made fruit cocktail, and a fruit platter. We provide complete snorkeling equipment – mask, snorkel, fins – and in the winter season also wetsuits and life jackets.

The speedboat offers space for both sitting and lying down, a retractable sunshade, cup holders, and an ice box for refreshments. There is also a toilet, shower, and an easy-access ladder for getting in and out of the water.

Tips: What to Bring for Your Day at Sea

Sun Protection

The sun in Hurghada is strong, so we recommend bringing reef-safe sunscreen (with mineral filters such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide). Avoid harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and avobenzone. A cap, scarf, or lycra shirt with UV protection is also useful. The speedboat has a retractable sunshade, but you will still be exposed to sunlight.

Wind Protection

During the winter months, it’s a good idea to bring a windbreaker or waterproof jacket and a hat, especially when it’s windy. Daytime temperatures in Hurghada rarely drop below 20°C, but it can feel cooler at sea.

Swimwear and Towel

For snorkeling and swimming with dolphins, don’t forget your swimwear and towel. In cooler months, we can provide wetsuits.

Your Own Snorkeling Gear (Optional)

If you have your own mask and fins, feel free to bring them. If not, we provide full snorkeling equipment included in the price.
